After graduating from Minnesota State University Moorhead with a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance, David Cowell began his career with Northwestern Mutual in 2000. David takes great care in developing long-term client relationships and providing quality service to both individuals and businesses. For financial representatives, field management, home office personnel, and others involved in providing life insurance products to the public, the CLU designation symbolizes continuing growth and commitment to professionalism. Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC) David Cowell earned the ChFC designation from The American College in May 2003 Chartered Advisor for Senior Living (CASL) David Cowell earned the CASL designation from The American College in February 2007 The Chartered Advisor for Senior Living focuses exclusively on the unique needs of mature clients. This designation provides David with comprehensive knowledge on the full range of financial, health, psychological and sociological issues confronting older individuals. Columns Resource Group Top Ten 2001 - 2010: This is an overall ranking for being well rounded. There are approximately 120 representatives in our local firm based in Minneapolis and covering Minneapolis and North to Brainerd, Alexandria and Northeast Duluth. The award is based on overall new clients obtained for life, disability and long-term care insurance, annuity contracts written, health insurance and investments.
Pacesetter First 40: New representatives qualify for this award by producing 40 lives in their first six months as a full-time financial representative. Cowell produced 93 lives in his first six months, a Columns Resource Group record.
Pacesetter Second 60: New representatives qualify for this award by producing 60 lives in their second six months as a full-time financial representative or by producing 100 lives in their first full year as a full-time representative. David Cowell produced 75 lives in his second six months of business.
Life Impact Award: A representative must produce at least $25 million of life insurance face amount to receive this award which is reflective of the impact financial representatives have on their community. It measures the amount of death benefit placed on policyholders' lives in the current year.
Policies Sold: Cowell ranked among the company's top 100 financial representatives in total lives production during the 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, and 2007 company awards years. Cowell finished 5th in total lives production among all Northwestern Mutual Financial Network representatives during the 2007 company awards year.
New Client Acquisition: David Cowell ranked among the company's top 100 financial representatives in total new client production during the 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, and 2007 company awards years. Cowell finished 62nd in total new client production among all Northwestern Mutual Financial Network representatives during the 2007 company awards year.
