David Cowell and his family are members of First Lutheran Church in Brainerd. David served on the First Lutheran Church Council from 2004 - 2006 and was Chairman of the Stewardship Committee from 2005 - 2006.

David is also a member of the Brainerd Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce and the Lakes Area Young Professionals.

David was a member of the Brainerd Sunrise Rotary Club from 2002 - 2007. He has served on the Rotary Board as Chairman of Club Assembly from May 2003 - May 2006.
